Consultant Pharmaceutical Physician
Dr Susan Tansey has more than 20 years’ experience in rare diseases clinical trials in several therapeutic areas including vaccine research, both in pharmaceutical companies and latterly in contract research organisations (CROs).
Previously, Susan was Vice President and Global Head of Therapeutic Strategy at IQVIA, where she was responsible for providing medical, clinical and scientific advisory expertise to the allergy, respiratory, infectious disease, vaccines and women’s health therapeutic areas, and managed a team of eight physicians.
Susan’s previous roles have included Senior Medical Director Paediatrics at Premier Research Group Ltd; Associate Director for Industry at the UK National Institute of Health Research – Clinical Research Network – Children; Director of Medical Services at TMC Pharma Services; Associate Director and subsequently Director of Vaccine Research at Pfizer Research and Clinical Research Manager at Servier Research and Development Ltd.
Prior to this, Susan trained in paediatrics in the NHS for nine years.
She qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Manchester Medical School and has a BSc in Medical Sciences from the University of St. Andrews.
Susan is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM), holds the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCPUK) qualification and has a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
